I grew up and completed medical school in India. In 1994, I moved to Canada and underwent Internal Medicine training at the State University of New York, followed by a fellowship in General Internal Medicine at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Additionally, I obtained certification from the American Board of Sleep Medicine.
My practice encompasses allergy and immunology, cardiology with a focus on cardiometabolic syndrome, and sleep medicine. Since starting my practice in 2000, I have had the privilege of seeing tens of thousands of patients from all walks of life and age groups. This journey has been both amazing and humbling, allowing me to communicate with a diverse population and enriching my growth as a person and a physician.
I had been drawn to General Internal Medicine early on because I enjoyed working through patient’s complex issues, providing continuity of care in the hospital and clinic and felt that it truly complimented my talents.
I attended medical school at the University of British Columbia and then completed my Internal Medicine Residency and General Internal Medicine Fellowship in Saskatoon at the University of Saskatchewan. I had a focus in Cardiology, Endocrinology and Obstetrical Internal Medicine.
With roots in Surrey and an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at UBC; I completed my General Internal Medicine residency at Central Michigan University and have been practicing since 2017.
I have a focus on Cardiology (specifically coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and valve disease), Endocrinology (specifically diabetes mellitus), and Hepatology. I value being able to help my patients in English, Punjabi and Hindi.
